Hello, Sam here.
In short, I am a college student studying whatever at a local college until next autumn, when I am going away to an art college (preferably Ringling, but I still have to get accepted first!) to study for a career in animation. I used to draw a lot of anime-styled pictures, but have been drifting toward a less cartoon-y style of digital painting lately, as art colleges generally don't like to receive anime in portfolios
Other than drawing and digital painting, I enjoy writing (creative or essay), taekwondo, and I even enjoy schoolwork (blasphemic, I know).
Hello all =)
Just thought that I'd update my journal here. I'm starting to be more active on Sheezy, so the next step is to revive my journal from the dead.
What's going on with my life in general these days:
-College... next year Art School (hopefully Ringling). Getting my portfolio together for applying.
-Need to find another parttime job - might involve writing
-Reignited my passion for writing through college classes =)
And I suppose I should say a bit about the spot on my eye, too, as it may end up as a problem where drawing is concerned. I've been having a spot in the vision of my right eye since last Wednesday. I went to the ER on Friday about it, none of the doctors had a clue, so they ran tests. The opthamologist they brought in found blood in the back of it (and she thought it was so odd that she called the opthamologist ranking above her to confirm it), so they're even more stumped, as there should be no reason that an 18 year old girl is bleeding into her eye or whatever.
Doctors telling me 'Woah... I have no clue what's wrong with you.' is nothing new, though, as I have another undiagnosed problem (which may or may not be connected to this) that occurs whenever I exercise (do I stop taekwondo? No, of course not, haha). Yeah, so they're running my blood tests through the weekend to see if I have any number of diseases, etc. I'm going back on Monday so more opthamologists can puzzle over it, but as it's Sunday and the spot is still there, I don't know when or how it'll go away.
What it has to do with drawing: I'm getting migraines from trying to concentrate, particularly at a computer screen, but I want to draw so bad that I might just take some painkillers and draw anyway. So if I don't update for a while, the spot'll most likely be why.
I'm not gonna panic or anything until I get a verdict, though, so don't worry =) What is life if it doesn't throw a few stones at you along the way?
